The worst thing about this car has to be the dodgy number plate! Please tell me CEXI means something in another language or counting system. Because as far as I know, it's a tacky misspelling of "SEXY" and makes you look like an idiot.

1926 Rolls-Royce Phantom I Open Tourer - Collector Car For Sale (Click Here)

    Description:
    Year : 1926
    Make : Rolls-Royce
    Model : Phantom I
    Coachbuilder : Windovers
    Body Type : Open Tourer
Colour : Wedgewood Blue over Black
    Trim : Black Leather

History : By 1925 the exceptionally successful eighteen year production run of the Silver Ghost had firmly put Rolls-Royce at the forefront of motor car production. The term “The Best Car in the World” had been deservingly earnt thanks to the soundness of its design and the pain staking lengths the Rolls-Royce engineers and workmen went to during construction. It is fair to say that the Ghost’s efficiency, reliability and superb performance were unmatched at the time. Its reputation laid the foundations for the continued success of the company and following seven years of development on the 2nd of May 1925 a new chapter began with the introduction of the New Phantom, which later became known as the Phantom I. One major improvement over the Silver Ghost was the introduction of the pushrod operated overhead valve engine. Three groups of two cylinders with detachable heads powered the 7.7 litre engine, producing rapid acceleration and the ability to maintain high speeds for periods of time “undreamt of before.” The New Phantom was able to produce 33% greater horse power at just over 2,000 rpm than its predecessor, thanks to a number of mechanical improvements. The New Phantom was a great success and was considered to be a very worthy successor to the Silver Ghost. Production lasted until early 1930 with a total of 2,269 chassis produced on English soil whilst a little more than 1,200 further chassis were produced at the Rolls-Royce factory in Springfield, Massachusetts in the United States. The standard chassis rolled off the production line with a price tag of £1,850 and then it was up to the new owner to instruct the coachbuilder of his/her choice to construct coachwork to their taste. Windovers factory in Colindale, North London was particularly prolific in production terms during the 1920’s following their relocation from Huntingdon producing a wide range of bodies for the New Phantom chassis. Windovers were responsible for bodying just over twenty open tourer bodies for the Phantom I chassis identical to Chassis No 132LC which we are proud to be offering for sale at this time. Windovers work was admired by a number of the Indian Princes and it should be noted that identical open tourer bodies were crafted for the likes of the Maharajah of Nanpara and the Maharajah of Kashmir. His Highness the Kumar of Viziangaram also had such a body constructed by Windovers but chose solid gold and silver fittings as opposed to the standard nickel finish. Well.....if you can afford it, why not. Chassis No 132LC was originally delivered on the 27th of May 1926 to Mr Taylor of Tadworth in Surrey finished as is it is today, in Wedgewood blue over black with a black hood. 132LC appears to have spent lengthy periods of time in both England and the United States of America. At some point prior to the 1960’s the coachwork was re-painted yellow and black. However it was restored to its original configuration of blue over black during a high quality restoration some decades ago whilst in England. Records show that 132LC returned to the United States in the late 1960’s before returning to British shores in around 1990. It has since spent one further period of time on American soil before returning to London quite recently. The car comes complete with its rear screens and full all weather gear including side screens, a detachable tail mounted trunk and copies of the original factory build sheets and chassis cards. The restoration has stood the test of time well and the car still presents beautifully. Having been mechanically reviewed and tuned by our engineers we can report that this superb motor cars on road performance is exceptional and is ready to be used for touring if so desired. In our opinion this magnificent pre-war Rolls-Royce will surely serve its next proud owner with distinction.

Condition : An older restoration that has stood the test of time very well. In very good order throughout.

Technical Data : Four speed manual gearbox, 6 cylinder in-line engine, 7.7 litres displacement, 7,668cc capacity. Servo-assisted brakes.

Geneva Motor Show: Rolls Royce Ghost by Mansory

A large programme for the "little" Rolls Royce. Automobile refiner Kourosh Mansory offers a breathtaking individualisation for the Rolls Royce Ghost. The specialist for luxury cars combines most precious materials with elaborate performance, individual appearance and stylish interior refinements. This creates a unique overall concept with a self-confident character.

The most striking part of the metamorphosis is an individually varnish in Gold and Blue. The self-assured colouring does not only reflect the exclusive status of the car, but also emphasises the newly developed exterior shape.

The golden varnish accentuates the delicate cross-beam in the new front skirt as well as the vertical gill between the headlights and the front wheel houses. Also the modified radiator grill insert duly profits from the varnish.

The evidence for the increased performance of the MANSORY Ghost can be found in the side skirts, the stainless steel sheeting, the unobtrusive rear spoiler and the rear skirt with the indicated diffuser and the two-pass end pipes of the double sport exhaust system.

The sportiness imbued by the exterior package is confirmed by the content under the bonnet. Enlarged bi-turbo chargers, the map optimisation of the control electronics as well as the sports manifold and the sports catalysers significantly increase the performance of the Rolls Royce. Instead of serial 570 hp (420 kW), the Ghost refined by MANSORY now renders phenomenal 720 hp (530 kW) at 5,850 r.p.m. The engineers from the Bavarian town Brand near Bayreuth catapult the maximum torque from 780 to astonishing 1,020 Newton metres. Therefore, the engine accelerates the 2,360 kg of the car from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.4 seconds and is thereby half a second faster than the serial version. Thanks to the removed top speed limitation, the acceleration does not stop at 250, but only at 310 km/h.

With these performance values, also the wheels are growing. Especially for the Rolls Royce Ghost, MANSORY developed a new design whose innovative look perfectly matches with the new appearance of the car.

The monoblock rims measure enormous 22 inches and their surface is refined with the same golden varnish as the exterior. At the front axle, 9 inch wide wheels carry the high-performance tyres Dunlop SP SportMaxx in the dimension 265/35, whereas the rear 10.5 inch wide wheels are fitted with tyres in the dimension 295/30.

The interior presents itself as an oasis for luxury and perfectly goes with the exquisite outer refinement. Large parts of the interior are covered with the most delicate leather with diamond-quilted ornaments and are completed by an ultra-suede lining from the roof line to the dashboard. Special wide carbon and a sports steering wheel in combination with light bamboo wood inlays render and atmosphere which can not be surpassed in terms of exclusiveness. Moreover, there are illuminated door sills and the implemented ambience light effects: seats, door casings and dashboard are equipped with LEDs which supply a pleasantly soft light throughout the passenger cabin.

Once again, company founder Kourosh Mansory has understood to lift a top luxury class automobile into even higher levels. After the refinement, the Rolls Royce Ghost presents itself with a self-confident character. There is a perfect synergy between technology and luxury which further confirms the individual design.

Rolls-Royce Ghost: Full Review

    Rolls-Royce Ghost

New Rolls-Royce Ghost became the most powerful and fast car in the history of the company: 563 horsepowers, 4.9 seconds to hundred! The car is stuffed by electronics, including the trekshn-control and infra-red system of detection of pedestrians. At all it is conservative enough as a whole and traditionally comfortable.

Predictably, serial Rolls-Royce Ghost practically does not differ from the conceptual version 200EX, shown this spring. Contrast silvery colouring of a cowl and a windshield framework is an option – it is possible to order and the monophonic car. On a choice 12 colours are offered, we will list their names for fans: Adriatic Blue, Claret, Darkest Tungsten, Dark Indigo, Diamond Black, English White, Ensign Red, Jubilee Silver, Lunar Blue, Metropolitan Blue, New Sable, Sea Green. Cars in the same shop where and Phantom, on painting and polishing of one Ghost leaves seven days are painted.

The system without key access already meets and on accessible models, but is unusual to conservative mark: Ghost opens itself when the owner with a charm approaches on distance of 1.5 metres (option). Inside – traditional style Rolls-Royce: simple, deliberately "craft" forms, a skin, the massive wooden panels, the chromeplated details, vent holes of type "eyeball". The interior by lamps with matte plafonds is highlighted. The screen on a front panel is hidden under a wooden cover, and additional functions can be steered or the rotary controller with additional buttons which has settled down on the central extension housing, or a voice.

The form of rear seats allows to turn slightly to the interlocutor who is sitting next. By the way, it is possible to choose both an integral sofa, and individual armchairs with massage, heating up and air-conditioning. As an option folding little tables for a lunch are offered a minibar with illumination, a compartment for champagne glasses. In backs of front armchairs it is possible to establish 9-inch monitors, and in a small box – a changer on 6 disks. The interesting moment - in front doors umbrellas with a teflon covering hide. Ghost is stuffed by various auxiliary electronic systems, however developers pay attention: they were projected so that not to disturb to the driver and to confuse it, and to do steering easier and pleasant. The list habitual enough for the prestigious modern car also engages the trekshn-control, stabilisation system, etc.

Ghost is equipped by system of night vision, the infra-red radiator allows to find out pedestrians on distance to 300 metres and to display them on the monitor. The distance to object, its speed and a direction is defined, by results of the analysis of the information the car gives out the prevention to the driver. Also in the list of equipment Head-Up the display (on a windshield the information is displayed necessary for the driver), "the alarm clock", warning vibration about traverse of a dividing strip, adaptive rotary headlights, active cruise-control with function Stop&Go. Some chambers in a lobby and a car rear help to park.

To combine traditional comfort and high dynamics the pneumatic suspender with absorbers steered electronics allows. As developers inform, it is rather sensitive, and is capable to correct the characteristics, for example, in case the passenger sits only on the one hand. The road gleam is regulated within 25 millimetres. Engine V12 in volume of 6.6 litres with two turbines develops capacity of 563 h.p. that allows the car to be dispersed to 100 km/h for 4.9 seconds, the maximum speed is limited 250 km/h. A gear box 8-step automatic, manufactures ZF. Average fuel consumption makes 13.6 litres on 100 kilometres.

In Great Britain Rolls-Royce Ghost will be on sale for 165000 pounds, in Europe the price will make 213000 euros, in the USA 245000 dollars.

2009 Rolls Royce Phantom

    2009 Rolls Royce Phantom
This is the car produced by Rolls-Royce. This model is named 2009 Rolls Royce Phantom. It is an elegant car.

    2009 Rolls Royce Phantom

A Rolls-Royce isn’t just an automobile, it’s a motor car; and while it may be lavishly outfitted with the finest materials, its luxury is reserved and refined. In other words, it is cast in the very image of the British upper classes. The brand doesn’t dabble in the less high-brow world of SUVs and crossovers. It produces only sedans, coupes and convertibles--vehicles that lend themselves to the ultimate expression of luxury.

Success came early for the brand. Henry Royce built his first car in 1904, and partnered with Charles Rolls soon thereafter. They founded Rolls-Royce Ltd. in 1906 and introduced the six-cylinder Silver Ghost shortly thereafter. Soon the name Rolls-Royce became synonymous with “world’s best.” Like all the pre-war Rolls-Royce automobiles that would follow, the Silver Ghost was produced as a rolling chassis. The body design and production were left to custom coachbuilders.

The Silver Ghost remained in production for 18 years before yielding to the Phantom I in 1925. The Phantom was a masterpiece of refinement and innovation. Its engine specifications would read well in today’s market: six cylinders, aluminum crankcase, overhead valves, and dual-coil ignition. The Phantom III was launched in 1935. With an overhead valve, 7.3-liter V-12, it was massively powerful. It featured an innovative coil-spring independent front suspension that was based on a design by none other than General Motors. The Wraith of 1939 was a more compact Rolls-Royce, and its innovations included a crossflow cylinder head with the intake ports on one side and the exhaust ports on the other. Very few were built before World War II ended production.

The Silver Wraith of 1946 was the first post-war Rolls, and it was the last to be fitted with custom coachwork. The automobile remained in production until 1959. The Silver Cloud was introduced in 1955. Its coachwork was a departure from previous Rolls-Royce models, with sweeping curves defining its shape. A number of Silver Cloud models followed. Most significant was the Silver Cloud II, which introduced the brand’s all-aluminum 6.2-litre V-8 engine and the rather noisy clock that became the focus of an Ogilvy ad: “At 60 mph, the loudest noise in this new Roll-Royce comes from the electric clock.” Meanwhile, the Phantom continued as the premier offering, but only 18 Phantom IVs were built (most for royalty and heads of state). This was followed by a mere 516 Phantom Vs.

In the 1970s, Rolls-Royce fell upon hard times and went into receivership. In 1980 the company became a subsidiary of Vickers. In the 1990s, the prestigious manufacturing firm went on the block again and was purchased by Volkswagen, which eventually turned the brand over to BMW.

Today Rolls-Royce is building beautiful and innovative ultra-luxury motor cars in their Goodwood, England, plant. Cars like the richly clad, 5,776-pound, 453-horsepower Drophead Coupe remain the envy of motorists all over the world.

2002 Rolls Royce Park Ward

2002 Rolls Royce Corniche

    2002 Rolls Royce Corniche

Here is 2002 Rolls Royce Corniche. The description of Rolls Royce is as follows:

The Corniche was Rolls-Royce's coupé and convertible version of the Silver Shadow produced between 1971 and 1996. The Corniche was named "Silver Shadow Mulliner Park Ward two door fixed head coupé " (alternatively - drop head coupé ) before 1971 when the Corniche name was applied. The exterior design was by John Polwhele Blatchley. (The independent coachmaker James Young had already custom-made a two-door coupé variant of the Silver Shadow, but Young's model proved less popular and was soon discontinued).

The model was assembled and finished in London at Mulliner Park Ward as continuation of the 1965 Silver Shadow coupe and 1967 drophead, with the Corniche name applied in 1971. The Corniche was also sold as a Bentley, though that model became known as the Continental in 1984. The first car to wear the Corniche name was a 1939 prototype based on the Bentley Mark V which was never produced because of the onset of World War II.

The Corniche was available both as a coupé and convertible, with the former discontinued in 1982.

The car used the standard Rolls-Royce V8 engine. It had an aluminium-silicon alloy block and aluminum cylinder heads with cast iron wet cylinder liners. The bore was 4.1 in (104.1 mm) and the stroke was 3.9 in (99.1 mm) for a total of 6.75 L (6750 cc/411 in³). Twin SU carburettors were initially fitted with a single Solex 4-barrel carburettor introduced in 1975. Export models retained the twin SU's until 1980, when Bosch fuel injection was added.

A 3-speed automatic transmission (a Turbo Hydramatic 400 sourced from General Motors) was standard. A four-wheel independent suspension with coil springs was augmented with a hydraulic self-levelling system (using the same Citroen system, but without pneumatic springs, and hydraulic components built under licence by Rolls-Royce), at first on all four, but later in the rear wheels only. Four wheel disc brakes were specified, with ventilated discs added for 1972.

The car originally used a 119.75 in (3042 mm) wheelbase. This was extended to 120 in (3048 mm) in 1974 and 120.5 in (3061 mm) in 1979. (Source Wikipedia)
